Waterproofing RC Car Electronics for Submersion

I'm considering waterproofing my RC car electronics to handle complete submersion. My initial thought is to use electrically safe silicone for coating, but I'm wondering if there are any issues with that. Also, if there are better alternatives, I'd appreciate suggestions. Any recommendations from YouTube guides on waterproofing would be great.

It's worth noting that even with waterproofing, complete submersion can still be tough on RC cars. It may impact the grease in bearings, the differential, and lead to increased corrosion. Additionally, soaked foam in tires could potentially mold.

Consider using silicone conformal coating for waterproofing.

There are plenty of YouTube guides available. The general approach includes conformal coating on the boards, plastidip over that, placing boards back in the case, and applying plastidip over the top. Use marine grease for servos or any other voids you want to fill.
